The City of Hart, Michigan
Hart is the county seat of Oceana County. Located in the western portion of the county, Hart is approximately six miles from Lake Michigan. Hart was founded in 1856 by early pioneers including Nelson Grove. Hart Township was named after Wellington Hart. In 1862, a gristmill and sawmill were built by Lyman Corbin and the area was officially platted in 1864, being named after the township. It became the county seat in 1865, incorporated into a village in 1885 and a city in 1946.

We arrived yesterday (Cindy & Joe are out of town), and got settled into the back yard. And, of course, a strong storm came through, including a lightning hit too close! We are impressed with the house, and the outside landscaping, the pic is of a gorgeous rhododendron by the back of the house.

You guys are just attracting the bad weather, aren't you? I hope you don't bring more of it when Sara and I are there. ;)
BTW Cindy - that is a beautiful bush you have growing.
yea, I think the folks can stay far away for a while if they are going to keep attracting that nasty stuff!
In case you haven't watched the weather, we've had 4 series of storms come through in 3 days, with another one coming today! 5 people killed in W Michigan, wind, rain, toronados, flooding. Sunshine, NOT! Going to get it all done before you come.
Yeah, I just looked at the forecast for this coming week - rain for most of the time. Should be enjoyable? At least we'll be with the people we love. :)
Ummmmm, yeah. Pretty sure I was stuck in Kohl's in the customer service area with about 50 other people and the tornado went right over the store!!!!! I was freaking out b/c I had no cell service and I couldn't get ahold of Bart to tell him it was headed that way and to get in the closet. Luckily they interupted on the t.v., and after taking a video on his new blackberry of the clouds, he rushed the kids into the closet where they hung out for a while.
Makes me want to never leave my family again!!!!
Tornado, in Michigan?!!? Glad everyone is ok there Paula! ...hmmm, starting to rethink making a trip to Michigan, THEY HAVE TORNADOES!!!
Paula - glad to hear everyone at your house is okay, if not a little spooked. Y'all better have some sunshine when we get there. Can you imagine being stuck inside with six (count them) small children? Yikes!!
