Investment Tips for 2010

With all the turmoil in the market today and the collapse of Lehman Bros. and acquisition of Merrill Lynch by Bank of America this might be some good advice. For all of you with any
money left, be aware of the next expected mergers so that you can get in on the ground floor and make some BIG bucks.

Watch for these consolidations later this year:

1. Hale Business Systems, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Fuller Brush, and W R. Grace Co. Will merge and become: Hale, Mary, Fuller, Grace.

2. Polygram Records, Warner Bros., and Zesta Crackers join forces and become: Poly, Warner Cracker.

3. 3M will merge with Goodyear and become: MMM Good.

4. Zippo Manufacturing, Audi Motors, Dofasco, and Dakota Mining will merge and become: ZipAudiDoDa.

5. FedEx is expected to join its competitor, UPS, and become: FedUP.

6. Fairchild Electronics and Honeywell Computers will become: Fairwell Honeychild.

7. Grey Poupon and Docker Pants are expected to become: Poupon Pants.

8. Knotts Berry Farm and the National Organization of Women will become: Knott NOW!

And finally...

9. Victoria 's Secret and Smith &Wesson will merge under the new name:

Don't Mess With Old People

George, an elderly man, was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the light, but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.

He phoned the police, who asked "is someone in your house?"

He said "No, but some people are breaking into my garden shed and stealing from me."

The police dispatcher said "All patrols are busy. You should lock your doors and an officer will be along when one is available." George said, "Okay."

He hung up the phone and counted to 30. Then he phoned the police again.

"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I just shot and killed them both, the dogs are eating them right now." And he hung up.

Within five minutes, six Police Cars, a SWAT Team, a Helicopter, two Fire Trucks, a Paramedic, and an Ambulance showed up, and caught the burglars red-handed.

One of the Policemen said to George, "I thought you said that you'd shot them!" George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

Don't mess with old people!

NEW NEWS!

So in 2 months, it will start to get HOT in Las Vegas, and we don't need HOT. So what to do? Well, in our case, we make plans to head North? Well, yes, sort of. How about Northeast?

Yep! We have agreed to be Workampers at Pine Acres Resort, Oakham, Mass. We will be about 50 miles west of Boston. Since we have never been in that part of the USA, this is our chance to see some more of our great country. We should be able to do day & weekend trips, as our work week will be 30 hours or so. We are excited about this opportunity. And our good friends, Rick & Pam will be there too! How cool is that!

Our schedule is not set yet, we need to be at Pine Acres May 15, so expect to leave Las Vegas early April, chance to stop and see family & friends on the way. Next fall?, still up in the air, but a good chance we could head south, before returning to the SW.

As we firm up our travel plans, we will post them. If anyone has suggestions, requests, etc., please let us know.

I'M BACK!

I've been bad! Between work, trips to Yuma (actually Mexico) to visit Dentist and visit friends, and Farming!, our Blog has really suffered. Oh, and Rich & I have watched a fair amount of FOOTBALL. I have noticed that many others have also been BAD!

We did take the trailer to Pilot Knob (west of Yuma) for 2 weeks early Dec, had lots of fun with Rick & Pam, Jerry & Karen. Christmas we had breakfast at Leslie's, and dinner with Leslie's family at her sister Carol's. New Year's Eve was spent at Mandalay Bay, drinking & listening to "THE FAB" at the open bar in the middle of the Casino. That was fun! We actually have not spent much time gambling in the casinos.

Weather has been decent, although we did have a lot of rain a couple weeks ago. More rain in 4 days than Vegas got in all of 2009! Now, 1.79 inches isn't much rain for many people, but in Las Vegas, it means flooding. Shoot, in Michigan, the ground would just soak up that much in a day. It is already getting into the 60's, I'm riding the scooter to work, and all is good for now.

So, at least a posting. Check back tomorrow for another post with some NEW NEWS! But now, it's time to get ready for work.
